This is a short post, but recently I was having a look around at some potential future business plans and one that came to mind was selling direct selling products online.
Having checked with friends and relatives who have been in the business (such as Amway), they’ve told me that you are NOT allowed to sell direct selling products on the Internet.
You are not allowed to show the brand of the product, show a product shot or say that it is an Amway product.
If you try and sell Amway products online in breach of any of the above rules, there have been cases when Amway has sued people for breach of regulations.
The reason these rules have been put into place are to make the direct selling newbie non ‘fair ground’ with anybody else. So it does not matter if you have a bigger budget than someone else to advertise your products, it’s all down to meeting people face to face and selling the products to them.
Selling the Amway product online, because you have more Internet knowledge than someone else who is new to the trade would be deemed as an ‘unfair advantage’ and this is not what Amway want.
So if you want to sell your direct selling or MLM products online, you’d better check with their internal rules and regulations first.
E-bay, for examples, won’t accept ANY direct marketing products on their website.

yup you can’t advertise it out blatantly… but of course there are other ways of building interest in the product without revealing the brand name or pictures…
direct mailing may be allowed, but I’m not sure. You have to check because it’s better to be safe than sorry. Amway have been known to sue over breach of their rules.
I have been in the Amway business for 3 years now. I’ve also been selling products online for about that long. Amway allows you to do so. They help actually help you set up your own site. This post is not accurate. Check out my site. http://www.healthpromotiononline.com
A reply to you saying that e-bay does not allow
any MLM or amway on e-bay is wrong.Anyone who
buys a product form amway can’t tell that buyer what
they can do with it or how they can sell it, as long as
they are not an Independent business owner with
Amway. I have seen many times amway products on
e-bay. I am an I.B.O. with amway and it works well
for me.
Oh really? you can see amway products on eBay? Is this allowed by the rules of Amway or do you just sell it hush-hush and not tell them about it?
Your post is discouraging others in succeeding in Amway.
Hi Rahul, not at all… in fact, I was interested in selling Amway products directly online, as I feel there are alot of them with potential.
But after some research and asking some people in Amway, it’s not as easy as just putting Amway products on a website, Amway encourage face to face sales and would rather you sell it that way.
But if Amway works for you (and I have friends making lots of money with Amay), then that’s great!

Hi, William, are you into network marketing youeself?
Hi Adam, no I am not into network marketing…
A little too many restrictions (in the case of Amway) and some of the other network marketing companies are a little suspect.
But then again, the ultimate in network marketing (without having the ‘multi level aspect of it) is selling products on the Internet.
Hi
Does Amway India allow creating a website to sell their products? I am referring to the post above by Jeff where he has his own website.

Enjoyed your post. I agreed with most of what you said and I’m sure it will be of help to others.
