In my previous post, I mentioned that both my Maybank and Standard Chartered debit cards were rejected by Paypal. Having no other choice, I’ve opened a savings account under Al Rajhi bank to try their debit card for Paypal withdrawls.

Will try and withdraw out USD200 to see if it works, but I’ll only know between 5 and 7 days later. Also, remember that the exchange rate that they ‘buy’ the US Dollar from you is based on the TT exchange rate, meaning it will be quite alot lower than the regular ‘buy’ rate.
Technically I should get close to RM700.
Will see how it goes and update again in the future.

Hi again Ervin… unforunately I haven’t received it yet. I need to lift my ‘withdrawl limit’ which Paypal has put on my account… not sure why.
So I’ve got to wait for them to send me an activaction code (which is shown on my credit card statement of all places) before I can withdraw funds.
Then if that goes well, I should get the funds within 5 – 7 days.
Hi Willian,
Previously I withdrawed fund from my paypal to my Maybank Credit Card, it just minus my outstanding balance there after 7 days i guess. But, this is not an option if you wish to withdraw cash.
I heard that public bank visa debit card working fine with paypal. But I never try. Not sure it is workable..

Hi Ervin, yup I figured that would happen. I’m happy to say that I’ve been able to withdraw my funds into my al rajhi debit card, but waiting for the bank to approve it.
This can take up to 7 days. But I think it should be no problem because I told the staff at the bank I specifically wanted to open an account for Paypal withdrawls.
Suprisingly, they knew exactly what I was talking about and were very helpful.
